As a shareholder, you do not own the land, but instead, own a voting share in the corporation Birkenhead Lake Estates, which owns the land. This then entitles the shareholder the use of a specific lot within the boundaries of the community. You do however own any and all improvements on the specific lot you are given the use of. The lot is not deeded property, and as such a bank will not provide you with a conventional mortgage. Your use of the share is governed by the Articles and Bylaws of the company.
